Can Men And Women Agree On Anything?

Men and women are so different and have such different tastes, it’s amazing that they can live together at all. When there are so many differences, how can they be reconciled?

The makers of TV shows know all about these differences and have learned how to use them in the making of television series. Their writers make characters that have some qualities that appeal to women and other qualities that appeal to men. While a man may identify with a tough leading man, his wife will follow the plot because she sees his sensitive side. While it looks like the man and woman are watching the same show, they are really seeing different things.

In our daily lives, however, there are some things that men just have to put up with about the women in their lives and that women have to accept about their men. What man really gets a thrill when he returns home from a day at the office and finds that his wife has just bought a vase that cost about half his day’s earnings? Home decor accents are not exactly high on a man’s list of priorities in life!

Then there are the men and their toys. From a woman’s point of view, going out and buying a homelite chainsaw just to trim off a single dead branch seems like a tremendous waste of money. She knows that it is going to spend a lot more time in the garage than it’s going to be put to use. The man, however, just can’t pass up the excuse to use a brand new chainsaw, though.

It’s all kind of a comedy, really and that’s part of the reason why men and women can’t live without each other. Life would be pretty bland if women and men had the same kinds of desires. Opposites attract because they complete each other, not because they repel each other.

That’s not to say that there are not many times when men and women are in complete agreement. An adventurous couple that loves an active, outdoor lifestyle will be in total agreement over the purchase of a Schwinn mountain bike.

Sure, the woman might stop to smell the flowers along the way while the man might race down the hill without even noticing them, but both of them are enjoying the great outdoors together. When they get to their destination, they share a drink from the same water bottle and share their stories about the ride together.

To complicate things further, men have a feminine side and women have a masculine side, too. Sometimes it’s the girl who feels the need for speed while her partner enjoys a more leisurely pace, stopping from time to time to photograph the scenery. All of these differences make life the rich experience that it is.
